YUMO

I’m eating my leftover lunch from Jerry’s Famous Deli. Mmmmm. Pastrami is good. I took Pete there since he helped me get a bed frame (still need a mattress) and he’d never been there before. I’d go there more often if it wasn’t so expensive. *sigh*

Woooo

My August rent is only $156 since it’s prorated from them raping me when I moved in. Maybe now I can actually pay off a little on my credit card.

I Ain’t NoHo

Alright, maybe a little, but I just had to use that title since I live in NoHo now. Let’s see, what’s been going on?? I’d left a few things at Jason’s to pick up later and it seems those few things are a few more things than I realized. Last night I finally got his newer mp3s copied on my computer so I can take that now.

Oh, that reminds me of how fucking retarted at&t is. If you get the new service online they give you a $40 “gift” which basically waives the installation fee, and they won’t do this over the phone. Even if their piece of shit website isn’t working properly. There have been some emails back and forth, of me trying to get tech support, and they apparently don’t speak English. The last thing I wrote to them was:
I don’t know why you don’t understand that your website is not working. And I cannot order on the phone, because then I wouldn’t get the $40 gift aka no installation fee. I would just like to know when I will be able to order my service online, which also means, when will your website work? If this can be forwarded to a supervisor or someone who understands about the at&t website technical problems, that would be great, so then I might actually get an answer.

And wouldn’t you know, they stopped writing me back. I’d even pasted the error code I got in the very first email I ever sent. So fun. I think I’ll try again today and see if their crappy website is fixed. Twyla said I should just get the phone part set up and do net later (that’s what’s not working online) and I’m going to take her advice if their site hasn’t been fixed.

Fun times. Even more fun is that I get to sit in the office alone alllll day long. Ugh. Boredom awaits.

Howdy

Here is how moving went:

Catherine & I got to my new place around 9:30 in the morning on Monday. First thing we see is a sign on the elevator that says it isn’t working and ’sorry for the inconvenience’. Then we went up and talked to the manager, Sonia. She said they had to fix my air cooler, put in a new mirror in the bathroom, install the smoke detector, and I couldn’t use the bathroom sink yet, cuz it was new and still had tape on it.

By that point I was a bit panicked. We were supposed to meet Pete in Pasadena because I was buying some used Ikea furniture from a chick with the cool ass name of Sunitha. I got a tv stand, coffee table, and end table all for $45 cuz she was moving to New York, score! Pete left late, then got lost, which made him more late. So we didn’t leave there until about 1.

Thankfully just before leaving, Sonia called and told me the elevator was fixed HOORAY! We stopped in Burbank to load the truck with a bunch of boxes and headed over to NoHo to unload. Me, with my stupid back cannot lift shit. I’d already hurt my back in the morning from moving a box from one spot to another. So I hardly carried anything, and I hate watching people carrying all my boxes. It makes me feel so guilty! That is part of the reason I hate moving. I’m sure you know the other reasons for hating to move.

After that we drove to Ontario to my grandma’s house to pick up more of my shit, like the “new” $50 fridge and my computer desk and other random stuff. Reuben met us there. After that we drove back to NoHo and unloaded.

THEN we drove to Burbank and got the love seat Jason let me have and some other stuff, including my bike I never ride. If anyone out there ever wants to go ride bikes, be sure to let me know :D

So then we took that to NoHo and unloaded. Then we all (Pete, Catherine, Reuben, Jason, me) went to Joy Feast for dinner, my treat of course. Had good grub, then we stopped at the gas station so I’d fill up Pete’s truck, and the truck that Reuben bought. $$$ But WAY cheaper than highering professional movers to do it, and I got to hang out with some of my peeps so :)

Last night was my first night sleeping in the new place. I’ll be glad when I get a bed, but the love seat is quite comfortable. I was up until after 2 again. Completely unintentional, but was just busy unpacking. I’m thinking of having a get together once I’m settled. What do you think? Are you willing to drive all the way to North Hollywood for some drinks and music courtesy of iTunes?

Oh, I went crazy at Target last night, and somehow it only came to $69. I did raid the dollar section though. And the rest was essentials, like cleaners and toilet paper :)

Peace.

For you Measly

Faith is perseverance. The key to victory in any struggle in life is persistence. That is why Nichiren Daishonin stresses the importance of having faith that flows ceaselessly like water rather than faith that flames up briefly like fire. To advance continuously, it is important never to become exhausted. Carrying out activities until late at night does not equate with strong faith.

That was on today’s Daily Encouragement :)

Busy Day

I haven’t been sleeping well lately and it’s just wearing me out. Ugh.

So, a summary of last weekend: Went to Twyla Twin’s and stayed there for the weekend. We went to her hubby’s company picnic and that’s where the hot guy was. Twyla had mentioned before that Jason (her hubby) had wanted us to go out w/ this guy so he could see that there were “normal” chicks out there. If I’m normal, he must’ve been meeting real freaks, hehehe. He came late to the picnic with his daughter and he wasn’t wearing a shirt. I kept getting glimpes of him and thinking “no, he can’t be that hot” but eventually he came up to me and started talking and introduced himself. He didn’t know that Jason wanted us to meet either. Hopefully I’ll see him again sometime to talk more, since we didn’t get much of a chance there. Oh yeah, and he’s white. Pretty nuts. I’ve dated one white guy and that ended quite terribly. It takes a lot for me to be attracted to a white guy, that’s for sure.

Twyla’s daughter Annsleigh is quite a little terror. She loves to torture her baby brother and frustrate people. But she was really cute with a huge pretty smile. Twyla is letting me use some of her kitchen stuff at my new place :)

I’ll make a post later about moving and crap.
